Welcome

We warmly invite you to participate in the FEAPA European Conference of Paediatric Anaesthesia which is being hosted by the Dutch Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists (SKA) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 27-29 September 2007.
The meeting will be run on similar lines to our previous congresses, with lectures by eminent paediatric anaesthetists, symposia, free papers and workshops. In addition, a trade exhibition will present the latest drugs, equipment and methods of anaesthesia for children. Our aim is to provide a European and International forum for the presentation of research and exchange of ideas on the current practice of paediatric anaesthesia.
The central theme of the congress will be: professional development in paediatric anaesthesia, embedded in state of the art lectures on pharmacology, pain management, intensive care and transport, the brain and anaesthesia, emergency medicine and quality assurance. You are invited to participate in workshops on up to date topics, such as monitoring the paediatric brain, resuscitation and devices in locoregional anaesthesia.
The Local Organising Committee invites all of you to present your work during this Congress. Please send in your abstracts and ideas, but remember the deadline: May 18, 2007
Amsterdam, often referred to as the Venice of the North because of its many canals, is one of the most colourful and vibrant cities in the world. From its humble beginnings as a 13th Century fishing village on a river bed, it has grown into a major hub for business, tourism and culture. In addition to the River Amstel and the many miles of picturesque canals, Amsterdam is famous for its fine buildings, museums, shops and nightlife.
We look forward meeting you all in Amsterdam in September 2007.
GH Meakin, President FEAPA
D van der Werff, President SKA
