Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is a phenomenon in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands and throughout the world. What once began as a coffeehouse in a little street in the heart of Holland’s capital, became the largest, grandest five star hotel in the Netherlands. Rightly known as the Village on the Dam! The hotel’s history takes you down long-forgotten corridors. A journey that starts in 1866 with an enterprising tailor in Amsterdam and ends – at least for now – in 2006. Two centuries came and went.
